Are you a Foodie? Enjoy Happy Hours? We’ve checked out both Taste of Catalina tours and give them two thumbs up! Get tastings of several restaurants’ delish delights or favorite island cocktails, as you walk around town playing games and/or learning some fascinating island history and trivia! From $69 per person.
CATALINA ADVENTURE TOURS
Join the captain and his crew on this semi-submersible vessel (you are seated 6-feet underwater but the craft does not fully submerge) that takes adventurers through Lover’s Cove, a State Marine Conservation Area sanctuary, where they will traverse amazing undersea gardens and ocean habitats, venturing into the deep kelp forests on an exploratory mission that is both educational and entertaining. Or, if you’d rather view from on top of the water, try the Glass Bottom Boat.
ZIPLINE ECO TOUR
Zip Away over Catalina’s gorgeous Descanso Canyon. Soar from platform to platform over the blue Pacific Ocean. Exhilaration is just a step away! Advanced reservations are recommended – this tour is the #1 rated activity on Catalina Island on TripAdvisor. General admission rates are $134 per person (rates may vary).
SILVER CANYON POTTERY
This hands-on, 90-minute experience is awesome for all ages. Located in Avalon’s “industrial area” on the same site as the original Catalina tile manufacturing facility! While learning about the history of Catalina tile and pottery, this tour allows you to create your own Catalina tiles, which are shipped to you within 2-3 weeks after they are glazed/cured. Prices start at $46/person and transportation is available.
CATALINA ROOM ESCAPE
Are you ready for a live-action pirate-themed adventure? Then join Catalina Room Escape and race to solve clues, crack codes and uncover secret passages. You have one goal: work together to escape the pirate ship in under an hour. Admission includes photos, prizes and access to a cell phone charging station. Do you have what it takes to beat the Catalina Pirate Challenge and join the crew? From $30 per person.
Catalina Island has over 165 miles of trails and roads for every type of hiker. From loop to out-and-back trails, hikers can explore all the scenery across the island.
MEMORIAL AND BOTANIC GARDENS
Check out the Wrigley Memorial & Botanic Gardens. There are fantastic opportunities there for pictures. If the kids don’t feel up to hiking, at least visit the mausoleum, where William Wrigley was originally laid to rest (he no longer resides there). The entrance fee is $7 for adults but goes towards helping our nature preserve stay just that – preserved.
